XIA Links Administrator's Guide

This section provides information for troubleshooting and improving the load times of the XIA Links Client.

When the XIA Links Client starts the shortcut processor will analyze the configured shortcuts.

To determine which shortcuts are slowing the load times:

• Ensure that unavailable shortcuts are visible by selecting the option on the view menu.
  
  
• Select the details view mode. 
  
  
• Review the processing time column.
  
  

NOTE: For more detailed information enable the client diagnostics, click refresh on the view menu, and review the diagnostics log file.

Typically shortcuts that use slow or unavailable network paths are responsible for slowing the load times. 

This can be resolved by taking the following steps.

• Resolve the performance issue with the network if possible.
  
  
• Configure shortcuts that use network paths to not be available offline.
  
  
• Do not use unmanaged icon files that use network paths.
  
  
• Configure shortcuts that use network paths to use the exclude file existence check option.
