XIA Configuration - Feature

Server Comparison Tool

Compare the configuration of your servers

Use our server comparison tool XIA Configuration to compare Windows and Unix servers. Either compare the current setup of a server to previous versions or compare two different servers.

The following video demonstrates how to use XIA Configuration to see changes made to a server:

Compare Windows servers

In this example, the current configuration of a Windows server is compared to a previous version to see what has changed.

To demonstrate this, firstly, the World Wide Web Publishing service is disabled in the services management console:

Then an ODBC data source server name is changed:

Once the Windows server has been scanned again by the XIA Configuration Client, it is compared with a previous version:

The results of the comparison are displayed in the XIA Configuration Server user interface. The changes made to the server can be seen in the differences detected:

Export to PDF

The results of the comparison can be exported to PDF:

Export to XML

The results can also be exported to XML and, for example, analysed in Microsoft Excel:

Compare Unix Servers

See changes that have occurred on an individual Unix server, or differences between two different Unix servers. In this example, an entry has been added to the hosts file.
