Common Search Fields Item Name The name of the item in the database. Description The description of an item. Serial Number The serial number of a physical device such as a server or network switch or virtual machine. Component Serial Number The serial number of a component of a physical device such as a switch in switch stack. MAC Address The MAC address of a device such as a server or network switch. Valid formats for the MAC address include: BA-78-2E-84-E8-39 BA:78:2E:84:E8:39 BA.78.2E.84.E8.39 Connected MAC Address The MAC address of a device connected to a network device such as a network switch. IP Address The IPv4 or IPv6 address of a networked device such as a windows server or workstation, network switch or Unix system. Item ID The unique ID of any item in the system - for example 1024.
